rs-485 interface

rs-485 interface

RS-485 interface is most common in industrial automation. It is used by most networks - BitBus, WorldFip, LON, Interbus, Modbus, ARCNET, and others. This is because the interface is the best at this stage of technological development. It has the following advantages:

  1. two-way communication all over a single twisted pair of wires;
  2. Working with multiple transceivers connected to the same line - networking capability;
  3. large length of communication line;
  4. high enough transmission rate.

This standard RS-485 for transmitting and receiving data using one twisted pair of wires, sometimes it has a braided shield or common wire. Data transmission interface RS-485 by using differential signals. In this case, the voltage and corresponds to the level of a logical one or a zero, not counted from the "ground", and is measured as the potential difference between the two transmission lines: Data + and Data-. The voltage of each line on the "land" can be arbitrary, but must not exceed the range of -7 .... +12 V.
